Darius struggles against good rivens who never let you trade back by glitching your E to miss with her dashes every time. Darius also has no hard CC or super tankiness to withstand her damage, he mainly just relies on killing her faster which isn't exactly reliable. You can go redpot, but its way easier to gank a red pot darius then it is a red pot riven.

Makes sense. Personally I delay

Darius ***** all over Riven lol.
Q her at max range every time she tries to CS. Force her to use all her Qs to try to get in range to trade back. When she tries backing off pull her back in and finish applying 5 stacks of your passive.
You have to know that without cooldowns Riven has NOTHING. The best time to fight her is right after she finishes the third cast of Q because she won't have it up for ~5-8 seconds. That means 5-8 seconds with minimal passive procs, minimal mobility, and minimal damage.
Another thing you can do is bait her Q so that she pushes her lane. From here, you can get a gank or freeze lane to deny her farm.

The people who think Darius ***** on riven haven't played vs a good one lol. Riven needs one opportunity to go hard on you and win, if you don't land max damage decimate at least once in an all in you lose 100%, and a good riven will make sure you never get it. I initially always picked darius into riven, but after playing the lane 40-50 times I've realized it really isn't that easy. A bad/average darius beats a bad/average riven. A good riven vs a good darius is a skill lane. A great riven beats a great darius.
@Asian Riven without CDs is still stronger than Darius without CDs. She has bonus damage on autos with passive while Darius can only stack his passive. What darius has going for him is his lower CDs though. You also cannot reliably pull a riven in, there are riven tricks that make your e whiff when you are clearly in range if you try to hook her at a specific time in her dash.
You say riven pushes if you bait q out... the same can be said about darius. You can't Q her every time she comes up if she just forces all ins on you. Red pot riven can easily 100-0 darius in a fight lvls 1-3. 4-5 is close, but lvl 6 she destroys you unless shes bad and lets you land 2 max damage decimates.
@GMD Its really risky to not skill E as darius just because you can't really call for ganks without it. If your jungler can't come up and you and him both know it I suppose you can get away without skilling E.
Best way to beat riven is to go sunfire, tabi, and hydra so she needs LW to 100-0 you at all, and even once she gets it she has problems killing you faster then you can kill her, but at those items lane phase is usually over.

Riven without CDs means she doesn't have a way to proc her passive. I was talking about a Riven who just blew her load.

That tip wasn't just limited to Darius, you can pick any champion, bait her qs, and make her push. Also, you're implying a Darius can't start a Red pot.
And I know from experience a lvl 6 Darius outdamages a Riven.
And to be fair, a 'great' Riven beats like everyone lol.

red pot riven beats darius pre 6, though if she doesn't get ahead she loses post 6
I can see that, I usually start red pot myself against her to counteract that.
