My top tips for getting over being depressed would be.
Physcal excercise is real good, it releases endorphines and all other kinds of good stuff that makes your brain go hmmmmm, sex is good too but chances are you won't be getting much of that cuz you aren't socialising, so "self pleasure"'s also a good way for "free happy pills"
Do some **** for yourself for the sole purpose of enjoyment, like whatever you really enjoy doing - make sure to do that stuff once in a while and write down every time you do it in a notebook or whatever(notebook is better than PC because it's more physical and you're holding it in your hands)
And last but not least, do some **** for somebody else, could be a friend or just a homeless shelter or something to make you know that you make a difference, whenever you do this kind of **** it also goes in the notebook. When you set yourself some goals and reach those goals it'll bring happiness into your life :)
^that and a nice exgf of mine got me through a time where i felt like a worthless piece of **** for a couple months.

At some point you really stop enjoying anything, plus when you don't believe you're worth anything doing things for yourself just makes you feel guilty more than happy. That being said, on good days this works.

Yea....this works. Unfortunately, it's also really easy to just turn into a person who makes other people happy so you can ignore how ****ty you really feel. Which is kinda what I am...huh.
Whenever I feel something unusual, like sadness, anger or something, I sit down calmly and think by myself: Why the hell am I feeling this? Do I mind feeling this? If yes, how do I make the feeling go away?
Most of the time I come to the realisation that it is just basic things that I am missing. Like being hungry, sleepy or whatever, I just get moody. Fill the stomache, get some good night rest and most of the times I am okay :3
