1. Hellz nah. Honestly, Gold was WAY harder to get back in season 1 and 2. After season 2, Gold became nothing more than a joke ELO. I still think people in this ELO bracket are terrible at the game.
2. Sure. I mean, this new ranking system allows a lot of **** to climb to the surface, imho. And it's not that hard to carry someone up to a new rank. Stick em with support, and play a carry role/champ.

5. Actually, I did do this to prove a point. I got so many people crying about how LoL is too hard because they either
A) Don't have enough runes.
or
B) Don't have enough champions.
I started a brand new account that I boosted to 30 that I'm currently playing. I have 2 rune pages and about 18 champions total. I completely *****ed the bottom of the barrel and made it back up to gold in a matter of a few weeks. Had I not work full time and go to college full time, I'd probably would've hit platinum by now on this account.
6. Every champion is stupid and ridiculous to play in gold. Some are just less stupid and less ridiculous than others.
7. Duo queue.
8. I've seen 500 deaths in ranked before.

Do you think trying to get plat just for the sake of not playing with gold players is worth it or do you think plat is just as bad? (I know I said you shouldn't look down on plats but I'm starting to lose faith in league when I see a platinum ranked vayne with 100 cs at 26 minutes)

Solo Queue ranked, in general, doesn't show true skill or potential of its players, no matter what rank tier you make it to. I know people who are simply the worst players in the world (Who don't even know proper warding or situational item builds) who are in platinum. Those with skill and understandings of the fundamentals can rise to plat no problem, but like how it is with anyone else of any other skill level, it just takes time.
My reasons for hitting plat are simply: Why not?
