HI!! i like your guide but no offense i think you copied a little from http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/really-in-depth-are-you-ready-for-trouble-season-6-guide-448073

like i saw ur guide before but then u started using words like 'retaliate' and it very similar. you even have dodge abilities and the laning phase bits. before, i didnt see that but now you put it after the above guide was published! thanks! :)

I have had my guide for almost two and a half years now. I keep my guide constantly updated with information from only the best Katarina players along with my own experiences. I consistently read through all new guides that I feel show potential in the Katarina section of the mobafire community to not only check that my guide excels above all others but to provide people new to guide making with pointers to making their guide better. I've yet to read their guide as I'm rather busy, however. If you doubt the validity of my guide, then do not use my guide. I have no reason to copy their content. I can get by more than well on my own time with my own understanding of my game. The only thing I've updated since they have had their guide in high ratings is my mastery section which I updated based on my own thoughts and opinions. If you think that I am plagiarizing others, bring it up in my private messages with cited proof along with your reasoning. Thank you for being aware of these things though, but know that I would never plagiarize anothers work.

P.S. I've only used retaliate once in the entirety of my guide and that section has been out for 6+ months. same with the laning phase section and all other things you mention. this is back when I was working with utopos on my guide (you can see these changes logged by my conversations with him in the comments). That section alone has probably existed long than this new guide you speak of was made. Thank you again!

Love the guide, has worked well for me, though, do you have any more specific pointers against Zed? I have a never ending difficult time against him in lane to the point of totally blanking out and panicking when I face him because I feel as though there is nothing I can do to keep pressure on him. As soon as I think I have him pushed back, he just dominates me with all the damage he does. Any tips?

Thank you so much for your compliments! I struggle a lot in this match up as well and it tends to be one of my hardest. Personally, I take cloth and 4 health pots and roam. Dodging his skillshots take a lot of prediction and practice. even with near perfect play he can still be a nuisance just because he has so much damage and can roam just as well as you can.

+scouted your guide. I haven't looked over this guide too intensively, but you team fighting section is really good now. You did an excellent job outlining the importance of flanking your opponents as kat, and waiting for the 'right' time to clean up kills.

Some analyses of your replays that you sent me. I analyzed one of your team fights, and applied (hopefully) your idea of your damage zones. Let me know what you think

Team Fight
Starting Conditions:

I outlined some rough 'Danger Zones' for Katarina in this picture. The Red zone is the Kill Zone. In this exact point of time, if Katarina was standing in the Red zone, she would probably die from one Siphon Power + AA, or Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike + Dragon's Rage, and she wouldn't be able to get resets.

The Yellow Zone is Approximately the range of Death Ray. If you are standing in this theoretical zone, Viktor could cast a max range Death Ray immediately where you are standing. At Katarina's current HP, if the ray doesn't kill her, it'll certainly bring her very low.

The Blue Zone is the Approximate Max range of the Death Ray. Katarina is positioned within the yellow and blue zones because she wants to be close enough to jump in and get Voracity resets if she can, without putting herself in immediate danger. This is how the fight progresses after a couple seconds.
Starting Conditions:

As you can see in the picture below, Viktor changed his direction from heading further down the red buff area, and back towards mid lane. Katarina repositions so that she's in range to get resets. There are no danger zones in this picture, because all spells that could insta-kill Katarina are on cooldown (this includes the Death Ray that's currently being cast in the picture. While Siphon Power + AA could theoretically kill Katarina, Viktor's so low that Katarina could instaburst Viktor before he got that combo off, so even though his Q is off cooldown, it poses minimal risk to Katarina.

The yellow star would be where I would be positioned if I was Katarina. I would be in a position to jump in at any time.

This is what happens a little later.

Lee Sin is in kill range. What you should notice in this picture is that Katarina is already looking into who her next target would be, and her next NEXT target would be. The green zone would be the area from where she could Shunpo to after she kills Lee Sin, and the yellow highlighted area is the area where she could Shunpo to once she kills Viktor.

Some miscellaneous comments
  • Take the Team Fight Pictures out of the spoilers. Those pictures and explanations are important for your reader to look at.
  • Space out your Laning Phase, and add some more pictures - kinda like the pictures I have above. These will make your laning phase a lot more helpful to read, as well as easier to read. I'd suggest using the same sort of idea that i've done in this comment to explain your positioning in laning phase.
  • In your roaming section, I want you to highlight what your own bot lane and mid lane look like at the exact moment that you decide to roam. I think that if you take those screenies, and explain why you roamed EXACTLY when you saw your own lane, and the lane you're to roam to, your readers will get a really good idea of when to roam.
  • Space out your Vision Ward section. That's really dense and hard to look at

I've marked up some of your gameplay section to show places where it'd be a good idea to insert pictures to space out your text. Each of the red lines in the picture below are places where you can insert a picture to help describe what you're talking about, while at the same time spacing out your points.

Alternatively, you can use tables (see my analysis above) to make it easier to read your guide, and also optimize your space.

Sorry for the incredibly long time it took me to respond back to what you said. My computer has been on the fritz recently and I just recently was able to get it working. I enjoy what you have provided me with. Would it be okay if I used your pictures, I have a different writing style from yours and it would probably be best for me to rewrite most of your paragraphs. But, I definitely like your paragraphs and it's exactly what I meant when I said damage zones. I've had to reset my computer to factory settings so most of those replays probably don't work anymore so it'll take me a bit to re-accumulate some replays to work with. But, beyond that I enjoy what you've said and plan on implementing it as soon as I get the chance to.

Your guide re-review:
As a reminder, I'd like to reiterate that the score that's attached with your guide ins't necessarily representative of the actual quality of the guide, but should instead be used as a way to gauge the relative importance of the points that i'm bringing up.

I'd like you to really spread out some of your sections. A lot of the sections are so dense with information that it's hard for me to absorb the information, and the significance of the points that you're trying to bring up. Another thing that i'd like you to do is try and include more pictures in your guide. They'll allow you to space out your text more, without making your guide seem too empty. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Sorry for taking so long to get back to your guide - It's nearing finals week for me, and my mind is on so many things, that I'm quite forgetful. I'll try to be more responsive in the future, although I can't promise that my responsiveness will improve until my exams are over at the end of the month.
Thanks for your patience,
~Michael

Hello, you requested a review from my guide review service this past weekend.

I make my mark-ups of your guide, and uploaded them as a PDF - I hope that's OK. A good start to a guide. I'd like to see you add some more content with the gameplay, team fighting, and roaming sections though. I think I outlined my comments in the review pretty thoroughly, but if you have any questions, feel free to respond to my post here, post on my review thread, or PM me if for some reason i'm taking a long time to respond. Once you add adequate content to those three section though, I'll be sure to upvote the guide, and +scout it. At any rate, I hope you got something out of my review. If you did, throw me a +rep - it means a lot to me :)

Thanks for your time,
Michael

I've fixed every single thing you provided me to fix. The only thing I didn't fix is the masteries. The reason I stick by my masteries is because Feast and Butcher are inefficient. Butcher Doesn't apply to aoe abiltiies eliminating it's effectivity on your Bouncing Blades and sinister steel (you primary csing tools). Although it does apply to auto attacks, you will find yourself csing much less with your auto attacks and more with your abilities. This leaves this mastery at about a 20% efficiency. Feast already loses some stature as 25% of it's worth is lost because you don't have mana. Although the extra bit of sustain can be beneficial to some extent, if we're talking about the moderate elo demographic, we can expect them to be getting anywhere from 40-90 cs in 10 minutes. That is only 120-270 health. This is only 0.2-0.45 health regen. the point allocation efficiency is minimal with these two masteries on Katarina. Making the helpfulness of these masteries minuscule. Otherwise, I feel like I touched upon everything you needed me to. I can extrapolate further if you really need me to, however. Thank you so much for your generous help, and I am looking forward to your response.
