Dear astrolia: How many times per game are you "randomly" paired up with bronze teammates? According to some league of legends demographics, bronze ELO players make up 25 of the league population. That means if the matchmaking system is random, you're expected to get around 2-3 bronze players per game you play in. Right?
Oh wait - what's that? You hardly ever see bronze tier players in your games? Oh hmm. Maybe the league of legends matchmaking system isn't random, and judges your overall success in games to pair you up with people that are equal to your skill level... Sorry xander, the slot machine, RNG phenomena you proposed isn't right

I see bronze players just as often as I see Platinum and Gold players in Dominion.

Prove it. Multiple screenshots (I'd at least 100) of lolnexus.com that shows this. Then create a table and a graph that'll show that you encounter more Bronze players than Plat players on your team. (Then you'd also need to compare this to the enemy teams to see if that balanced out, obviously. However let's omit that for now.)

Honestly I'm not gonna invest that kind of time but I did go through recent games and here was the ranked breakdown of players in the game:
6 bronze, 22 silver, 15 gold, 7 platinum, 1 diamond
So most of the ranked players I encounter seem to be Silver or Gold but what else is interesting is that I have actually seen nearly identical numbers of Platinums as Bronzes.
Edit: This is just recently as well. I know a couple weeks ago, for example, I played a 5 man pre-made team of four platinums and 1 diamond so those numbers would have shot way up had we looked further back. Point is, it's pretty random whether I face bronzes or face platinums.

doesnt dominion have its own separate elo from ranked and normal games?
Yep. Which is why the "I see high elo players all the time" argument holds less water than a cylinder of wire mesh.
Sig courtesy of GrandmasterD. Go get your own sig from them. :D

I'm confused about why this was addressed to me.
hi embracing. yes i play ff14 now.
Yes and the teammates you get via matchmaking are random.
You have no clue how Riot's matchmaking's system works and neither do I. Although I do question your assumption that it is utterly random.
