I have written a guide on how to become a more positive player.
I hope that we can make the community better, and the enjoyment of the game higher.

The LoL Community is fine. It is diverse. It is actually one of the better communities I've seen in my gaming career. Yes, of course, there is going to be a few bad apples. There always is. Ever since I started gaming I've had to deal with the all the name calling and 12-year-olds shouting into my headset random profanities and declarations of sexual conquest on my mother, who I would promptly claim is dead.

And then there are the people who are active in the community. One of my personal favorites, mostly because it was the first one I was a part of, was the Bungie.net Community and eventually I found a pretty good group of guys and gals that I could hangout with and rock the Big Team Battles all night long. Of course I always favored Ranked Lone Wolves in that time, and I did get my fair share of frustrations over the stupidest thing. but that little sub-community there gave me a shoulder to cry on. I would go nuclear over some **** like losing rank and post about it in my little group (this were a much more explicit than the ones MOBAFire saw in the past.... I was a lot younger and more impulsive back then). The fallout gave me some space to vent, while my friends would type up reassurances and help me cope.

The League of Legends Community is no different. You got your flamers, ragers and random others that take no part in what the community does. You got the main forum goers, who have their own friends in the the system and try to include everyone who is willing to take the time to read. And then you got the Private groups, much like our very own MOBAFire, where people are a bit closer than on the main forums.

I am not really sure why this is, but it is my personal experience that those people in the last group, people who regularly contribute to private and/or sub-forums, are the best people to play with. And you are posting about being a better player, on a Sub-forum, where this concept is already well known and practiced.

So the following questions remain: Who are you? Why should I bother reading this? What does this bring to our community/sub-forum that isn't already present?

Not quite sure how that makes the league community better.

At any rate, the league community is pretty good, as far as communities go. I find that the most disappointing thing about league, is that there are people who flame, and I don't mute them because i believe that they might at some point later contribute something useful to the team. The mute button is a miraculous thing, though

I suppose I'd better be the first to say that this counts as advertising your own guide.

Quoted:
Advertising Your Guides and Blogs: Do not post links or otherwise advertise your MOBAFire guides, builds or blogs in the comments or on the forums. Mentioning your work in relevant conversation is one thing, dropping links and otherwise advertising around the site in an attempt to get more visits is another. You can read more about this rule here and here.

In any case, I think what's in the guide is pretty much just lame folk psychology - about 95% made-up.

Hey guys.

Why should you read my guide? :
I don't think any of you guys are the kind of problems I spot, when playing league of legends, but give my advice a try anyhow.
The reason you should read my guide, is because some people need to know, that it is other people behind the screen, who is playing the game. Stubborn people with pride problems might need to read and understand.

What is my guide about?:
Yes, it is true its a bunch of "lame folk psychology - about 95% made-up", but since I have experienced it worked 3/4 of the time, I would say you could always give it a try. Most guides on the internet is 95% made-up, and my guide is about my experience in playing LoL and how I contribute to being a better TEAMplayer.

Anyhow... This guide is just a simple way to make the experience of the game better. I don't know if you're in Silver, Platinum or Diamond or on EU West, East or US, but there is a lot of flamers on EU West, imo. You can help yourselves and this GOOD community into being better, if you just did what my "lame folk psychology" told you.

I myself also made some community guides, and I must say that the guide is quite lacking. You point at certain titles you give certain people in the community without actually explaining what those people are (The Helper, The Morale Booster, The Leader, etc.) and the information on how to solve flaming is also pretty damn lacking. Just morally boost your allies isn't always that easy. Also; People have different definitions of flaming. How often does it happen: "Wow report this flamer pls" "I am not flaming ;/". In order to be able to adress "NEVER flame your TEAMmates" you have to give a definition to flaming.

What sirell also said is correct, this can be considered guide advertising which isn't allowed in the forums (unless it is contributing to the topic, whereas here you made your own topic).

I could help point out the amount of bs that just isn't quite true in that 'guide' of yours. I study modules of philosophy of psychology, as well as studying on psychotherapy and psychodynamics. I can guarantee you that the majority of what you wrote is just biased bs that you've gleamed from your own 'experience' without even to bother verifying that what you wrote was actually valid.

To give you an idea, the title on its own, 'avoid being a hot-tempered flamer' - there's actually already something wrong with that.

For a start, being hot-tempered isn't something that you can just toggle on or off and 'avoid'. In order not to be hot-tempered requires an actual change at the emotional level and that just isn't something you cover simply in a 3-paragraph-5-chapter guide.

Next, the title has next to NOTHING to do with the guide itself. You talk more about handling other people, rather than avoiding being hot-tempered yourself! The content of the article is completely irrelevant to the name of the article. So, not only do you have no idea what you are talking about, but you do not know how to properly write.

Honestly, you have little-to-no idea what you are actually talking about and you have minimal idea on how to structure an article. I'm not deliberately being mean, I mean this sincerely, but you should understand that you honestly not in a position to be teaching anyone about this subject at all, judging by what you have written.

ALSO, DON'T IGNORE THE FACT THAT YOU SHOULDN'T BE ADVERTISING LIKE THIS ANYWAY.

Like sirell said earlier, advertising like this is not allowed. Take it to PMs if you want further feedback from people who commented in here.
