What are the best boots for support Soraka? This might be an issue for other squishy support that wants to get CDR capped. I'm torn between Ionian Lucidity and Mercury Treads. The magic resist and CC reduction on the treads seem too good to pass up. However (with the exception of Mejai's Soulstealer at 20 stacks) the CDR boots are the only item in the game with 15% CDR. Everything else is 10 or 20%. With the 5% CDR from intelligence mastery, the ionian boots are the only way to get to 40% without going over. If it is better to use the Mercury Treads, should I still use the mastery points on Intelligence?

mercury treads arnt something you should be looking at if youre not a tanky support (taric/leona/thresh) because as soraka youll most likely be dead before the tenacity even matters

the CDR boots and sorc shoes are both good on soraka since she already gets an mres shred on Q you can deal a bit more damage

i personally dont like the CDR boots mainly because there are other ways to get CDR and magic penetration is harder to come by

basically as soraka it comes down to what you want, more damage? sorc boots, more heals? CDR boots

That also depends a lot on who you're laning against. I agree with ap though, if merc treads are your only mr item, they aren't going to save you if they go in for a kill, they're just going to slightly minimize the enemy's poke. In late game, the CDR will help a ton in getting you more stacks of starfall in team fights.

Some supports go 9/0/21, or 4/5/21 to get 10% CDR from masteries. I can say that it makes maxing your CDR a lot nicer, especially when you need a special kind of boot, and don't want to be 'forced' into CDR boots

Ionian Boots of Lucidity or Sorcerer's Shoes are typically the go-to, though with the advent of CDR support items, I don't think CDR boots are worth it.

Ninja Tabi are also a nice cheap option for tier 2 boots and Mobility Boots are good for roaming.

You can pick up Mercury's Treads if you're looking to maximise magic resist and tenacity isn't exactly bad either.

Other than that, there aren't any other options worth pursuing.

Mobi's overall are the best boots for any support.

Who the hell would want to CC a support Soraka?
