The most anticipated match of GAMESCOM 2014 is coming up in just thirty minutes! In an epic best-of-5 the two European powerhouses Alliance and Fnatic will face off for that all important Group 1 seed at Worlds!

In the semifinals we have already seen a set of AMAZING matches with Roccat taking it to 5 games versus Fnatic and SK giving Alliance a very good run for their money. The 3-1 win for Alliance could've just as well been a 1-3 loss to the hands of SK.

Are you prepared for perhaps one of the best BO5 series ever? I hope you are! In this thread I'll be keeping you updated and sharing some analysis, as well as some other updates / photos from Gamescom!

Just to give you an impression of the massive excitement, this was the venue over 2 hours before the start of the event:

Reserved for updates / analysis.

Some priority picks and bans I'm predicting:
Froggen's Twisted Fate
Kog'Maw
Ahri
Nami
Maokai
Orianna

It's going to be very interesting looking at the toplane. Wickd is known to have a very standard champion pool, whereas Soaz is known to pull out all kinds of unconventional picks (Soaz picked 5 different champions in the BO5 versus Roccat). Maokai will no matter what be highly contested, but the question is if Fnatic will purposely let it through to counterpick it.

Rekkles got MVP and highest kills award, while Nyph got highest total assists award. Well deserved MVP for Rekkles! I must say though that I preferred them doing these awards AFTER the series.

Now stuff like THIS can appear on the front page.

Anyway. Easy predictions like Tristana/ Kog'Maw being heavily contested, along with Morgana/ Braum/ Thresh support picks.

Maokai pick/ban, especially against Blue side.

Kassadin bans expected, especially against xPeke. Contesting expected for Orianna/ Ahri.

Junglers expected to see Kha'Zix, Lee Sin and Elise.

May see more of these Swain picks that we've had these past few days. Hoping Wickd will pull out an Irelia somewhere, but then again, I'm always excited to see Irelia.

That Vayne pick was a bit unexpected I think.

It was for me. I missed out the Alistar prediction as well.

I think this game will be more about who can carry harder - Rekkles/xPeke or Tabbz/Froggen.

It's all going to be about rotations. Both teams have the individual skill to win this game. Shook right now is playing incredibly smart, counterganking and doing well regardless of him being denied a buff level 1.

Their comp was all about splitpushing and alliance completely outrotated them. They played against Fnatic's comp perfectly.

Alliance has the momentum going into game 1 by outplaying Fnatic in all aspects of the game: laneswap, rotations and teamfights. Admittedly it had a lot to do with Fnatic's teamcomp.

It's going to be interesting if Alliance is going to ban Kog'Maw or let it slip through and get 2 other priority picks in their first rotation.

For that purpose, I think the Zilean pick was a bit weak. The ults were virtually useless. Fnatic was playing like they were down a player.
