Thanks for the guide. I find these very useful when I try out new champs. I like to go back and read them several times to further imbed the great information into my skull, makes the learning curve drop like crazy.(always awesome to find a plat/diamond player's perspective as you can count on them having plenty of gaming experience/high level of knowledge) One thing I noticed when building my item sets, etc... Spirit of The Elder Lizard is no longer available. Figured I'd mention it so you can fix that in your next update. Cheers!

The reason I don't build skirmisher's or devourer is because I utilize Vi as more of a bursty combo champion that can 100%-0% squishies. All of the damage you're doing is within a ~5 second window. Vi does plenty of damage when she can auto attack, but the problem is actually having the chance to auto attack. You could certainly get away with building her more auto attack based, but I find more success when she's built bursty.

If you wanted to build her auto attack based, I would recommend maxing w second, then building Blade of the Ruined King and Randiun's Omen to help stick onto enemy champions. If you want to play Vi this way, you'll need to build tankier because you'll be taking more damage from your target and whoever is with them.

Hey, I like the guide. ONe thing that I've been wondering is why no one builds her with the skirmishers sabre - devourer... It synergizes very well with her passive, adds magic dmg per hit and makes her dueling ability even more powerfull.

Great Guide!

I main Vi a lot in the jungle, and I made some improvements to my mid game by maxing Vault Breaker first, instead of Excessive Force.

Just wanted to add in, since you have a section for it in your guide, Zed's Ult also breaks free of Vi's Assault and Battery.

Thanks for writing up such a thorough guide!

The 3 attack speed runes are for improved jungle clearing.

gonna vote when i can but other then that great build also can you please try a ap vi build.. i have done it before and i managed to one hit the enemy carry arounf 800 ap did around a 1000 damage considering you build some CDR you can build it so it has a really low cooldown and it works well considring most vi players do Q to go in then AA-E-AA(armour should be broken with w passive) then E and by that time yiu can continue your combo in team fights useing your actives while there armour is down and ussually you can down there carry really well then agian you are a plat it might work in my elo but yours is diffrent i got ahead of my elo because of practice agianst my silver and gold friends. but if you try this and give me your thoughts on it becase i kinda like going a diffrent build then normal players ex. with rengar i get red elixer and go ward the enemy buff then out of the blue after the adc leaves i jump in get a kill off and steal the buff. its really fun.

I'd just like to mention that I took a break from the game from February to July, so some of the information present in the guide became irrelevant during that time. Since then, there are a couple of items that are proving more useful to Vi. Due to the last changes in Warmog's, that item has become a possible build path for any sort of champion who chooses to build tank, including Vi. Back when Spirit of the Ancient Golem had tenacity, Warmog's would've been unnecessary because after the tank jungle item, you would need to prioritize resistances. Now Spirit of the Elder Lizard is a much more useful item to Vi as it provides early game power, so adding Warmog's to your build with either Ninja Tabi or Mercury Treads would work.

Ghostblade and especially Blade of the Ruined King are becoming more popular on Vi, and I can see how those two items would benefit her. Build either of those items if you so choose, because I believe that as long as you have good judgment, you can build whatever you want. Even items like Trinity Force and Randuin's, which I've always seen as essential to Vi, could be avoided by going the Iceborn Gauntlet route. This guide should only be a template, and you should experiment on your own with what works best against the situational, enemy team comp.
