I assumed it was thoroughly known, most games where she appears have comments on the videos saying "OMG RIP". But this is a bit like that one time I said "Dubledore dies" 3 years after the book's release and a friend of mine went "OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" (in before someone does this).

@Final Fantasy Combat System discussion: Although Spoony would digress a bit, the systems vary a bit on the components and this influences tactical play. Although from FF 1-9 the system is basically the same (although strategic preparations can be different), the systems that followed were different and some interesting. I still think FF12's system was really great, it added a lot of depth to the world as you never had that "battle load screen" thing that happened before with random encounters or on FFXIII with creatures being there and reaction allowing for pre-emptive fights (urgh). It was a lot more organic albeit awkward here and there.

FFX-2, however, is the best turn-based system I've found among videogames, and I've played loads of turn-based RPGs. It was very fluid but still could be challenging at latter levels, whereas most of FFXIII/XIII-2 were basically mashing the X button unless you were sidequesting like a madman (which I always do).

@ninja: You gotta show that. Seriously, it brings such memories, me and my elder bro would do a Seung Mina vs Hwang Showdown on the secret chinese map place that had day and night animations ^_^

@My list: I had to leave a lot of things behind. I accidently left Skyrim because I misccounted and cba deleting one game and writing more, Digital Devil Saga series is good, Valkyrie Profile Lenne is good, Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger are also pretty awesome, Ni No Kuni was really fun too, loved Soul Reaver, loved the original Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, some Armored Core games for the sillyness, Deus Ex Maquina, (can't say much about Mass Effect, liked the first one but couldn't play the others and 1 is very clumsy in the figthing part), Streets of Rage which has an amazing OST for the generation it came in, and TIME CRISIS I LOVED BEATING THAT **** OVER AND OVER AND I HAD TO BE ON TOP OF A CHAIR COZ I WAS 7 AND TOO SMALL TO SHOOT THEM OTHERWISE.

I was specifically talking about Super Mario RPG.

There's still classes in it, but they're not clear. Like, Peach is the healer of the group, but you have to guess it based on her skills. Everyone else, way less clear since everyone has offensive skills and defensive skills. It's an odd "class" system.

EDIT: Oh lord that is a lot of info there Xeres.

Oh, I thought you were speaking about class systems in general :P

Woopsies. And yeah, I tend to write a lot 8D

1. Runescape (Pre-EOC)
Something about this game's grinding is just more fun compared to other MMOs, and out of any RPG, Runescape has some of the most fun quests I've ever played.

2. Age of Mythology
Really great level editor, I never really got into WC/SC for some reason, but I loved Age of Empires and Age of Mythology.

3. Dark Souls
Best one out of the series IMO, really fluid mechanics compared to the other two games.

4. Resistance 2
5. Uncharted 2
6. Disgaea 4
7. Rock Band 2
8. NFS Underground
9. XCOM EW/EU
10. Dragon Age Origins

I use to play time Crisis all the time on my playstation, but then my dog chewed my guncon wire. Good news I just bought a new one at my local game store, but bad news it only works on older rounded screen televisions. Good news I still have one in my garage, bad news it's cold out there.

Also when I start my secret of Mana Play though I may have to pull my phone out and take some screen shots :)

This is really-really hard, but here it goes.

10. "Warriors" series (Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Warriors Orochi). Picking out one is really hard, because a lot of them are very similar to each other, but my favorite ones are Dynasty Warriors 4 (my first game in the series and thus quite dear to my heart), Dynasty Warriors 8 (ridiculous amount of content and I like a lot of the new mechanics that it introduced), Samurai Warriors 2 (individual character campaigns are very interesting to play through and secondary mode where you play a board game of sugoruku is a nice time-waster) and Warriors Orochi 2 (unfortunately the best english version of this game with additional characters and stages landed onto PSP and because of that not many people played it). Dynasty Warriors also introduced me to the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" book which remains one of my favorites to this day.

9. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. What a pure joy of a game. Every class in the game is fun to play: rogue for his sneaking backstabbing nature, warrior for just dismembering stuff and of course the mage. Mage has such a great arsenal of spells and you can use them in many different ways. Like your frost spell, for instance: you can just freeze the target and then shatter it to pieces or you can freeze the ground and watch as the enemy slips and flies off the cliff. And there are so many more examples of it, you really have to play this game for yourself. I've heard that Dishonored is a spiritual successor to this game (seeing as it's made by the same developers), but I haven't played it yet.

8. Contra: Hard Corps. I can't count how many times I've finished this game, it has to be in triple digits. Fast-paced run and gun with different paths, 4 unique characters each with different weapons and a ton of well-designed bosses and amazing music. Even after so many years I still come back to this game from time to time and play it again.

7. Heroes of Might and Magic 5. It's a tough choice between HoMM 3 and 5, but 5 really does improve on a lot of things and makes each race very unique. Orcs get different abilities depending on their "rage" level, Undead ressurect their units after battle, Demons can get reinforcments during combat. And that's only to name a few. There is a lot of customization, be it different skills your hero can take or just variations of units you take into combat. Campaign in the original game is pretty bad, but in the addons it gets quite action-packed with nice cutscenes and interesting storyline. And as many other HoMM games, it features a great soundtrack.

6. Resident Evil 4. Another game that I've played god knows how many times. Not much of a horror game (then against, the series never could pull it off well), but a great B-movie story with ridiculous dialogue and one-liners. In terms of gameplay it's still a lot of fun with many different weapons, great enemy encounters and a few nice bosses. Also the mercenary mode where you get to play as different characters and try to score as many points as possible for a limited amount of time is very good addition to the game.

5. Warcraft III. Even though I haven't played this game in like 3 years, I've spent an obscene amount of time on it before. It blended rpg and rts elements so well that I don't think a lot of RTS games managed to do since. All of the races were fun to play with a lot of unique elements about each one (Night elves with their buildings, undead with ressurection of bodies or humans with their rapid expansion). I'm also quite fond of the story and just simple stuff like units having a lot of different lines. And of course user created content was very fun to browse through. Considering how powerful WC 3 editor was, people came up with a lot of great stuff, be it minigames or full campaigns. It's also the first game I've tried to get any good at and was watching a lot of tournament vods.

4. Gothic 1. This game hooked me in and didn't let me go until I finished it. Setting, while being mostly just fantasy fluff, has a lot of unique touches like the fact that the whole colony is surrounded by a giant barrier and all of the fractions cope differently with it. People in one camp just live their lives, in the other people try to blow up the barrier to get out and in the last one fanatics try to pray to some god entity which they believe will get them out of this mess. Story takes quite a few unexpected turns and the game is pretty fun to replay multiple times, just so you get to try out different classes and spells. Unfortunately this game doesn't stand the taste of time. The controls are horrible, there are a lot of bugs and bad collision detection and the battle system is pretty bad. If you can't get past these issues, I suggest you watch a longplay on youtube or something, because the game really deserves it. Unfortunately, rest of the series ranges from being good-ish in some aspects (like Gothic 2) to just pure arse (like Gothic 3).

3. Vampire: The Masquarade - Bloodlines. While the game is infamous for being buggy as hell, if you can get past that issue (community patches help) you'll find one of the most compelling rpg experiences. I like rpgs that are set in the "current" time and this is one of them. The story has some holes in it, however it makes up for them by allowing you to play out your character quite a lot. While the story itself doesn't change much (even though there are a few endings), you will have to choose sides a lot and some of the more interesting npcs will get pissed at you if you choose someone else over them. This game is also very replayable because of the different classes (clans) that you choose at the start of the game. Two of them are especially worth mentioning: Nosferatu and Malkavian. First ones look like horrible monsters and because of that you can't show up on the streets (instead traveling through the sewer system) and have to use stealth for the most of the game. Malkavians are just coo-coo in general: they talk to street signs, hear voices in their heads and randomly flip out. While these two classes are really bad for your first time playing(because you will miss big chunks of the game) they are amazing for future playthroughs. And finally, this game features one of my favorite in-game radio shows .

2. Persona 4. Even though I've spent much more time on Persona 3 (finished it 3 times), Persona 4 is just better in every way. It has a better story, each dungeon is connected to different characters and because of that they are really fun to explore, soundtrack is great, there is a lot of customization through different personas and their fusions. Exploring character stories through social link system is a lot of fun and the fact that they give you benefits in battle is smart and rewarding. I'm also very fond of Persona 2, but I played it a bit late into it's life cycle and while it was great, it didn't top 4 for me.
On a side note: Persona 4 anime is awful and doesn't do justice to source material. If you've experienced the story that way and didn't like it, I suggest you giving the game a go, because a lot of the story and character aspects are fleshed out much better and the game is fun to play in general.

1. Phoenix Wright: Ace attorney (picked the first one, but you can't go wrong with any of them) - even though it's a visual novel and not much of a game, it's still a thrill to play. Great stories, lovable characters that you get attached to and amazing music. Also localization is really-really good, even though it's silly in places (like game taking place in Los Anegeles and not in Japan and characters expressing their love for hamburgers instead of rice balls). The only problem is that it lacks replayability, but it doesn't hurt game itself in any way.

Honorable mentions:

Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic (It has a bit of a slow start, but once it gets going, it just doesn't stop. A lot of very interesting quests, some nice puzzles a great turn-based battle system and of course a cast of great characters (HK-47 and Carth Onasi being my favorites)).

Diablo II (sinked a lot of time into it and still play it from time to time).

Valkyria Chronicles II (characters and story are awful, but the battle system is one of the most interesting I've ever seen in the strategy-rpg type of game).

Walking Dead S1 (amazing story with a lot of tough choices and well written characters. S2 was a disappointment).

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (one of the most fun third person action games I've ever played. Unfortunately it's way too short).

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (my favorite one of the series. Setting is very interesting, creatures you meet are disturbing and there is just a lot of stuff to do).

Super Robot Taisen series (really hard to pick one, but basically it's a strategy game where every unit you control is a mech from some popular anime like gundam, evangelion, TTGR, code ge*** or mazinger. A lot of beautiful sprites and each game features tons of content, but unfortunately most of them are in japanese).

Pretty much all of the fighting games. Be it Street Fighter 3rd Strike, Guilty Gear XX#Reload, BlazBlue, Skullgirls, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Smash Bros, King of Fighters or Samurai Showdown. I don't care. I love most of them and can play most of the installments for hours.

And that's that. I've probably forgot a lot of the other games, but whatever.

Have you played the first? It's practically the same in terms of gameplay with much stronger characters and story. If not, it just so happens to be releasing on steam in four days.

Sadly, I don't own PS3, so I haven't. I know about the steam release and I'm very excited about it. PSP really doesn't do justice to the game's visuals, which is sad, because original game looks gorgeous. I unfortanetly was kinda spoiled in terms of the story, because there are a lot of refferences to the first game, but we shall see.

On a side note: I'm playing through the third Valkyria Chronicles in the meantime on the psp emulator, because there's finally an official english patch for it. I'm not too far into the game yet, but basic premise is that there is a secret squad which is made of convicts and other jerks, which goverment sends on suicide missions. My only problem is that even though the squad is supposed to be made of horrible people, there are like, 12 year old girls and ****. Maybe this gets explained later, but it kinda interferes with the theme of the game.

That being said, it does feature one pretty badass character design:
