Yep it's once again been a very long time since I've made a blog post but here we are.

There's obviously been Preseason 11 going on which has confused me way more than it should have. For starters, they removed Rod of Ages which used to be something essential on Anivia. I honestly have no clue what's going on in the store anymore. They changed a lot of items' stats, as well as adding new ones - not to mention the complete rework of the shop which had me standing at base for 5 minutes trying to figure it out at the beginning. There's just so much going on that I'm going to try and learn more about them before I really make any major changes to my guides to better reflect Preseason 11.

With all that out of the way, I wanted to make this to just talk about the changes with Anivia coming on December 9th (or so it's scheduled for then). From the website I read, it displays the following changes in stats:

Projectile attacks’ base speed increased to 1600 from 1500
Cast offset of attack delay increased to -0.1 from -0.008

Now I assume that it's referring to her AAs in which that's all peachy and fine. Even if the attack delay is increased, the attack base speed is increased which should offset it.

Anivia's Q:
This ability now applies a chill effect to enemies it passes over
Damage dealt decreased to [50/70/90/110/130 (+25% AP)] from [60/85/110/135/160 (+45% AP)]
Detonation damage dealt increased to [70/105/140/175/210 (+50% AP)] from [60/80/110/135/160 (+45% AP)]
Cooldown changed to 11/10/9/8/7 seconds from 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 seconds
Mana Cost decreased to 80/85/90/95/100 from 80/90/100/110/120
Projectile speed increased to 950 from 800

The chill effect applied to enemies it passes is gonna be REALLY helpful for Anivia for very obvious reasons. If you somehow botch your Q and detonate too late (which unfortunately has happened to me way too many times), you're still able to get at least the chill effect if not the stun. The passing damage has decreased which makes sense but is still not ideal but at least the detonation damage has increased which is really all that matters most of the time anyway. The cooldown changes just solidifies even more that Anivia is a late-game champ and not an early game one. It's a good thing to mana cost decreased since Anivia uses way too much - or maybe I'm just too reckless, who knows? And lastly, the speed of flash frost has increased which was one of my largest complaints with Anivia. Now, all we need is Anivia's R to be immune to CC and it'll all come full circle.

Anivia's W:
Wall of ice width increased to 500/575/650/725/800 from 400/500/600/700/800
Cooldown changed to 20/19/18/17/16 seconds from a flat 17 seconds

I'm not sure if the ice width increase is a blessing or a curse. On one hand, it can prevent movement for longer, the only caveat is that whether it is enemy movement or ally movement. I may or may not have accidentally walled an ally off to death. Can neither confirm nor deny. The cooldown decreased which wasn't something essential for me but you never know.

Anivia's E:
Mana Cost changed to a flat 40 from 50/60/70/80/90
Damage dealt increased to [60/90/120/150/180 (+60% AP] from [50/75/100/125/150 (+50% AP)]

The E buff is honestly massive; my eyes bulged at the sight of the mana decrease and damage increase. These are honestly nowhere near insignificant figures to me so it's pretty surprising to see changes like this, especially on Anivia. I guess it was somewhat expected since people rarely play her, much less main her.

Anivia's R:
Cooldown changed to 4/2.5/1 seconds from a flat 6 seconds
Damage dealt decreased to [30/45/60 (+12.5% AP)] from [40/60/80 (+12.5% AP)]

I guess if Anivia's R can't be immune to CC, a lower cooldown is the next best bet. Either way, the cooldown reductions ain't half bad, dropping down to one second in its third level. The damage decrease is mildly disappointing but considering all the buffs she's received so far, it's not surprising.

I was in the middle of typing my conclusion when the thought just came to my head. I ALMOST FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT THE NEW ANIVIA SKIN! Well, Cosmic Anivia is honestly perfect and is up there on my wishlist of skins, beside Blackfrost Anivia for obvious reasons. It's kinda making me sad that I don't have the newest Anivia skin unlocked but all I can honestly do for now is wait. Let's just hope that riot doesn't come out with another new Anivia skin before then.

That's all I have to say right now that I wanted to talk about. I guess you'll hear from me another time when there's something else noteworthy!

Until next time!
