Champion Build Guide
1. Introduction: Why Play Nidalee Support?
Welcome to the ultimate Off-Meta guide! As a former pro player, I can tell you that Nidalee Support is one of the most unexpected and punishing pocket picks in League of Legends.
Nidalee offers a unique blend of Massive Poke, Execution Damage, and Surprise Enchanter Utility. She excels at:
Lane Bullying: Her Javelin Toss (Q), especially from the fog of war, can chunk enemy HP and force them out of lane.
ADC Synergy: The Primal Surge (E) heal provides a massive Attack Speed (AS) buff (up to 70%), which turbocharges any auto-attack reliant ADC (Vayne, Varus, Jinx).
Roam Potential: Her passive, Prowl, makes her incredibly fast through the jungle, allowing for high-impact ganks on Mid Lane.
This guide presents two distinct playstyles, allowing you to adapt to your team and matchup.

2. Runes: Keystone Choices
We have two expertly tailored setups based on your intended playstyle:
2A. Setup: "Aggressive" (The Poke Master)
This setup is focused on maximizing Burst Damage and Snowballing to dominate the early and mid-game.
Primary Tree (Domination)
Keystone Electrocute
Tier 1 Sudden Impact
Tier 2 Deep Ward Collection
Tier 3 Treasure Hunter
Secondary Tree (Sorcery)
Manaflow Band
Scorch
2B. Setup: "Defensive Heal" (The Enchanter Cougar)
This setup prioritizes Utility, Sustain, and Teamfight Resilience, transitioning Nidalee into a hybrid Enchanter/Caster.
Primary Tree (Sorcery)
Keystone Summon Aery
Tier 1 Manaflow Band
Tier 2 Transcendence
Tier 3 Waterwalking
Secondary Tree (Resolve)
Bone Plating
Revitalize

Scorch
Quoted:
Electrocute gives you the needed burst to finish a combo (Q -> R -> W/E/Q). Sudden Impact is perfect, as you are constantly dashing with Cougar (R+W). Treasure Hunter helps you purchase your early items faster, which is critical for a support trying to snowball. Manaflow Band is essential to prevent early mana issues from excessive poking. Scorch further enhances the early-game bully potential of your Javelins.
2B. Setup: "Defensive Heal" (The Enchanter Cougar)
This setup prioritizes Utility, Sustain, and Teamfight Resilience, transitioning Nidalee into a hybrid Enchanter/Caster.
Primary Tree (Sorcery)
Keystone Summon Aery
Tier 1 Manaflow Band
Tier 2 Transcendence
Tier 3 Waterwalking
Secondary Tree (Resolve)
Bone Plating
Revitalize
Quoted:
Summon Aery is the core Enchanter rune, shielding allies on heal (E) and adding damage on poke (Q). Revitalize dramatically increases the power of your heal and all your support items (Moonstone/Redemption). Transcendence grants crucial Ability Haste. Waterwalking combined with your passive makes you an elite roamer, ready to impact the whole map. Bone Plating offers crucial defense against early all-ins.
3. Ability Max Order
The max order is defined by the chosen runepage and playstyle.
3A. Order: "Aggressive Poke" (Q Max)
Q (Javelin Toss) 1-4-5-7-8
W (Bushwhack) 3-14-15-17-18
E (Primal Surge) 2-9-10-12-13
R (Cougar Form) 6-11-16
3B. Order: "Support Heal" (E Max)
Q (Javelin Toss) 1-4-10-12-13
W (Bushwhack) 3-14-15-17-18
E (Primal Surge) 2-5-7-8-9
R (Cougar Form) 6-11-16
3A. Order: "Aggressive Poke" (Q Max)
Q (Javelin Toss) 1-4-5-7-8
W (Bushwhack) 3-14-15-17-18
E (Primal Surge) 2-9-10-12-13
R (Cougar Form) 6-11-16
Quoted:
Maxing Q guarantees maximum damage output, especially when combined with the Electrocute build. You aim to poke the enemy down until they are in lethal range for the Cougar form execution.
3B. Order: "Support Heal" (E Max)
Q (Javelin Toss) 1-4-10-12-13
W (Bushwhack) 3-14-15-17-18
E (Primal Surge) 2-5-7-8-9
R (Cougar Form) 6-11-16
Quoted:
Maxing E first prioritizes the massive Attack Speed steroid and sustain, turning you into a powerful Enchanter early on. Your main goal is to sustain your ADC and win short trades using the AS buff.
4. Laning Phase & Playstyle
Early Game (Levels 1-5): Poke and Prowl
Level 1 Decision: Start Q for poke/bush checking, or E if your ADC needs early sustain.
Bush Control: Maximize your passive! Place Traps (W) in the river entrance, tri-bush, and the lane bushes for vision. The MS buff from the bushes is your best friend.
The Poke: Look for untelegraphed Javelin Toss (Q) shots from max range or out of the fog of war. Even one hit can force an enemy to burn a potion or recall.
Mid Game (Roam and Skirmish)
The Roam Window: After clearing the support item wards and backing for boots, look for roams. Your passive MS boost combined with Waterwalking (if taken) makes you one of the fastest champions on the map.
The Execution: When a target is Hunted (marked by Q or W), it's your all-in signal. R (Cougar Form) -> W (Pounce) dash for gap close -> E (Swipe) -> Q (Takedown) for the execution. This is a massive burst!
Late Game (Utility and Sieging)
Poking for Objectives: In the late game, use the long-range Q to push enemies away from Baron or Dragon. Even a missed Q forces them to respect your presence.
The Enchanter Role: Stick to your most valuable carry. Use Primal Surge (E) to heal them and grant the massive Attack Speed buff right before a major teamfight breaks out. Use your Support items (Redemption, Mikael's) effectively.
Good luck on the Rift! Now go get those spears!
