Hey Akali Players,
This is my first guide and I hope you take something out of it to add to yours and I hope it gives you a great game with the maddest assassin in LoL.

My usual Summoner Spells I go for with Akali are Exhaust and Ghost but I found that I didn't much like Exhaust because of the fast paced game-play of Dominion so I swapped it with Promote to give it a try and I really liked the combo.
The use of Ghost and the Boots of Mobility work well to get across the map quickly.
I especially like Promote for quickly pushing a capture point. I would be pushing a lane and once a super minion went low health, I would pop Promote and push even further to the next capture point. Another thing I was doing was running straight into a capture point, where our minions were, and instantly popping Promote and going for the capture. Because of that, the enemy team would have to go through the Promoted super minion to capture the point, giving the allied team more time to react and fight back.

Akali is very much a skill based character with super strong burst and great chasing capabilities. Chasing a lot in Dominion will cost you a capture point if you're solo chasing and the enemy team had at least 2 people at a point. You're not going to chase, but only burst.

-Can capture a point and get out relatively fast

-Can push to a capture point reasonably well

-Is screwed when she gets focused
-A little bit squishy when not built right

Akali also requires a fair amount of decision making and how to approach a capture point depending on who, on the enemy team, is holding it/capturing it. That could be a Pro or a Con depending on how you like game-play.

Core items

Sweet movement speed right from the start and with Ghost, your a torpedo. PLUS, those speed boosters scattered about The Crystal Scar's jungle. A must of an item.
A must for the passive buff.
This item I love, just buy it.
I really like items that give Health and AP at the same time and this new item for Dominion only has nailed it.
Ryali's is a definite for Akali. Another one you must just buy.
Usually around this mark is when the game finishes but who knows when a game will finish? Build up to this one by buying the Revolver first.
Buy this item at any time in the game that you think you need it. You already have your Long Sword done for you.

Other items

I grabbed the Spirit Visage for a test go in a game once and I think it worked really well. Feel free to give it a try as well.
Rabadon's is always good for an AP boost to one hit those pesky Teemo's and other various squishy champions.

I also use these Runes for Classic 5v5's and 3v3's just because I found they are the well balanced and I think they are great.
9x Greater Mark of Insight for some Magic Pen for those skillful skills of Akali's.
9x Greater Seal of Fortitude for that extra health, who doesn't like health?
9x Greater Glyph of Potency to go towards the passive buff.
3x greater Quintessence of Potency for the passive buff.

Twin Disciplines is a very unique passive. With the AP Runes listed above, one of the two passives is activated at the start of the game. From there, buy the Boots Of Mobility to start of then go straight for a Long Sword to get that extra 10 AD to get the second passive.

This is the most effective burst damage combo of Akali's and with those Magic Pen Runes, it's super burst.
