I personally believe, there is no particular "wrong" spirit item on amumu besides the Elder Lizard. The stats from Spectral Wraith are all beneficial on Amumu. This was more of a offensive based Amumu, which I find to work best for me. The early spell vamp from Amumu, I find, is invaluable for my early game and if coupled with mana regen, gives an extremely strong level of sustain. The overall tankiness given from spirit of golem is excellent, but I prefer a high damage ratio, as I want my stuns to be as useful as possible. This is not a full tank guide, but more geared towards a quick to 6, and offensive style of play. Try this build out in a normal at some point, before down voting so quickly. Of course, I apologize if you didn't read the letters, WIP at the top. It is still well in its development phase, and being adapted as I play more Amumu and get better with him.
