Introduction
Most of the items can be replaced with something else with two exceptions. The first is Athene's Unholy Grail. The mana regen that it supplies is too great to pass up. The second is one of the Rabadon's Deathcap. Morgana must have a high Ability Power to do much so this is a must.
The only three alternate items that I would consider are a Rylai's Crystal Scepter for the health and so that way the second ability has a slow effect. A Void staff if the other team has very high magic defense, but between sorcerer's boots, Abyssal Scepter, and Tormented Souls' ability to lower magic defense this shouldn't be a problem. I might also consider Will of the Ancient's if there are lots of other AP champs on my team.

Flash is a must. Early game it allows you to chase down the champion for a first blood and mid to late game it allows survivability.
Clarity is not necessary. Early game you will need mana so clarity is a big help. But once you have the Unholy Grail Clarity becomes obsolete. You may consider swapping it out for an Ignite.

Morgana is a great solo mid. But late game is all about teamwork. The trick is to stun the person putting out the most damage and hit as many people with her Tormented Souls as possible. Use her ult towards the middle of the team fight. It causes all of their team to slow down and the possibility of a pentakill. However Morgana is still very squishy so she must remain behind the rest of the team until it's a guarantee that she will survive.
