Introduction

Keep in mind that I wrote this build for normal gametype, also as an AP carry. I don't play nidalee very often as a AD carry solo top or support nidalee bottom.

Items

The last 3 items are optional, mostly dependant on how you want to play, you could replace the rylai's with a zhonyas if you want to be able to survive longer in team fights, which you should generally be at the back until it is safe to move forward in cougar. The rabadons, sorcs, and void are pretty much essential to doing "tons of damage" -Phreak. Also I take the doran's rings for the early mana regen, you don't need as much mana regen late game.

Skill Sequence

The reason I pick up traps second is because, the higher level your traps are the more damage they will be doing, while reducing their armor and magic resistance. If your lane is poke heavy, than I would recommend getting heal second instead of traps.

Early game

At the beginning feel free to harass with your spears, because you have enough mana regen at the start to throw a few spears, since it costs only 50 mana at level 1. I would recommend going bot lane, because you can't get as good angles if you are top or mid.

Mid game

Your spears should still be doing a decent amount of damage, although not as much as your spears do early game. I recommend focusing anybody without magic resistance. Also if you see a tank about to initiate a teamfight on their team try to put a trap in his way, so that he will take more damage from everybody. The traps are a huge dissadvantage for their tank because of the 30% reduced armor and MR. Also I would save the heal until someone actually falls below however much it heals. You will run out of mana quickly if you just spam heals for little hp/attack speed.

Late game

This is where your damage should fall off a little. You shift more to a support with major heals, while still being able to poke.
