I too have joined the AP Rakan enjoyers, I almost always go for luden's over rocketbelt because of the mana issues tho, unless I put manaflow in my runes I feel like I always run out way too quickly, more so if I go mid and need to spam w to push waves, doran ring just isn't enough, same for support, I always run spellthief's for the mana regen.
What's your guys answer to the mana problems? Just spam less skills?

During laning phase I only use abilites to clear cs under tower that i would miss otherwise or securing a cannon with Q. I just never really push as AP rakan, let the opponent push and poke you. You can heal back the dmg with Q and you block most poke with your passive. Save abilites for trades, so when you run out of mana they run out of health and you both have to back
