Maxing E first maximizes your damage with tour hate spike, never mind that the ap ratio is 1.0. Grabbing the early second point in shadow walk allows you to gank or to surpries your enemy early with the 20 seconds you have to work wiht it is very useful.

Combo
When you want to try and kill a champion start your combo preferably with shadow walk wait in a bush or area where they can see you, DONT FORGET THE ABILITY TAKES 1.5 SECONDS TO BECOME STEALTHED. Then go in while under shadow walk and use your ultimate if you know that it is a secure kill/assist. Once you activate your ult auto attack to slow them from the shadow walk then use your ravage to deal insane damage and to lower their magic resist. Follow them using hate spike ALL THE TIME! Make sure to auto attack as well the ad form the gunblade really helps and in-conjunction with your ult is very good.
