Okay, so this is my first build that I'm putting on Mobafire. Let me start out by saying that this build is a personal preference but I'm sure that a lot of you can do good with this build. I've tried many others and they just don't really work for me as much as this one.

I choose to get 18 sets of MP runes. But if you'd rather not, you can always just get Void Staff if you still want MP

Again, I go the standard masteries for a mage: 9/0/21 (Making sure to put a point in both Ignite and Flash, cause that extra 10 ability power when ignite is on cooldown helps that much more)

The skill you want to max out first is Malefic Visions, BUT at lvl 1, get CotV and spam it 3 times at the re-spawn base. That way when you first use it in lane, you can automatically have a Voidling to help push. So, max out Malefec Visions first, than Null Zone, and lastly CotV as it helps alot in team fights late game. (and of course get Nether Grasp at 6/11/16)

The best summoner spell for Malzahar IMO is Ignite. Nuff Said. Than I prefer to get flash as you can use it to escape or close a gap to use your ult on someone. Another good spell is Ghost. I really don't see any other Summoner Spells that's good for him except MAYBE Cleanse and that's if you don't know how to use his Malefic Visions right.
