That is the manual way to do it, I on the other hand go into the options > keybindings, and set "smartcast skill 1" to "Q", "Smartcast skill 2" to "W", etc. Of course, your "W" doesn't need directed, IF you are using Ahri, I smartcast Q and W with every champion, and certain champions I even set my R to, such as Akali.
