i have a small argument against stacking ONLY armor and magic resistance instead of both + hp. with your current amount of armor, you can take ca. 7k physical damage. If my maths are correct you will end up with ca. 60-70% damage reduction from armor. on other words, every 1k damage counts as 333 dmg instead. if a trynda that normally hits for 1k dmg on crit hits you 8 times, ur dead. BUT, if you include a warmogs in your build, and still have the same amount of armor, you will be able to take around 12 hits. other than that, great guide.

EDIT: with 160-170 armorand 4k hp you can take around 10-11 1k hits.

your argument against frozen mallet lacks any evidence. The slow is well worth its weight in gold considering Garen is easily susceptible to kiting and it will activate on your Q which makes it very easy for you to get that Ashe by just auto attacking her to death and then spinning when she gives up and runs away. an activated slow on a 60 second CD and 5% CDR isn't worth it in comparison imo, although the armor could help if you are against a heavy AD team

Garen is the first champ i tried since i started playing this week. I have tried the top 5 mobafire guide. This is BY FAR the best one :P +1 looking up for updates!

BTW: Have you ever tried a 12/0/18 mastery? Garen is natuarly very tanky so he hasn't to get into the defence tree. I only say courage. And hp can be good if you combine it with atmars, sunfire and force of nature to the most epic combo you have ever seen. Leviathan with 15% dmg reducion in combination with your e makes you unkillable.

Btw, I tried (my version) of defence-less masteries and it works great as long as ya get enough minion kills for courage passive.
