ManaReg pr lvl runes + doran's ring + 1 lvl on drunken rage gives me the mana i need early game. Ofc you cant fly around using body slam every time its ready though :)
many uses both Body Slam and Barrell roll for farming early game. I dont see that as necessarily, as it drains you mana. I have no problem getting a good farm with only barrel roll and auto attacks, using body slam to initiate or getting away :)
If i play 2v1 top, I tend to lvl druken rage 2 times though, on lvl 2 and 4, as i dont need body slam for initiation :)
I dont allways go for hourglass, It really depends on the other team :) great vs ad ^^
I tend too allways go for Sorcerer's Shoes :) the reason is that it boosts you dmg output quite a bit against those squishies you are targeting :)
Often lategame, after I've picked up my Void Staff, I change my boots for Mercury Threads, as you dont need Sorcerer's Shoes anymore.
Void staff is almost allways a must for Gragas mid/lategame ^^
the reason i dont buy Will of the Ancients for Gragas is that I dont feel like I need more sustainability then i have :) Gragas is quite a master of escape ^^
For items, I tend to rush rabadons before my boots (or at least the components, if possible). Gragas can hang out in the lane for ages. Moving to gank other lanes is good but I generally don't because of mana issues early game. Speaking of which, how do you sustain your mana without leveling drunken rage? I usually level that just ahead of barrel roll to keep a decent amount of mana at all times.
I've not used Hourglass on him yet, but it seems like a decent item if you body slam into the fray and get heavily targeted.
Ionian boots of Lucidity and Mercury treads are also two very helpful boots for Gragas; Choosing my boots later allows me to pick which will be best for the game, rather than just rushing sorcerers' boots.
Void staff - awesome item on gragas. :)
Finally, Will of the Ancients is a fantastic item if your team is heavy on spellcasters. You get a huge spellvamp working with happy hour, some nice AP, and the aura benefits your allies similarly!
the build worked out awesome for me.
