I have definitely considered and even built those! They are actually decent items, but only if you have a lead. Building those items from behind hurts and gives too much priority to the enemy bot lane, as you end up being less capable than them when they build they're own support item.

Another thing to consider is the gold value from the Locket's Aura when skirmishing or team fighting. Those stats make more of a difference than most would think! And when you tether to someone, you essentially give that person half a tank item for free with your E passive and Locket!
