Personally I dont ever go anywhere besides just a turret as karthus so I use teleport. My team is a mass AoE team and all they use me for is my ulti, i dont die because i am so squishy and i just stay on turrets. Some call this build bad but it works very well if you are a coordinated team. If you are a karthus that likes to go past turrets and be in the mid of a team fight then go for spell pen boots and remove mejia's soulstealer.
