This is a good build for decent damage while having a kayle that is sturdy and less glass cannon, for those of you that like saving your ults for team mates and not yourself in a teamfight. The build order isnt exact, it can be gotten in any order depending on how desperately you need them. If you need more damage at the start go rage blade, if you need magic resists go banshee veil, if you need armor then go frozen heart. This is all entirely up to the players need.

I go Greater Mark of Insight for extra kick to her damage and resitance penetration, Greater Glyph of Focus for cooldown reduction, it helps keep righteous fury on a quicj cooldown incase she needs it in a snap. Then I take Greater Seal of Fortitude, you can never really go wrong with a little extra health at the start and it helps keep you form having to spam your weak heals on yourself so much if you play judiciously. Lastly i take Greater Quintessence of Potency because i feel it brings more to the table than Greater Quintessence of Strength, it help increase her starting capability.

I put 9 into offense for CDR and magic penetration and a little extra boost with AP per level for a little something on the side. Then i take 21 points into utility, since Kayle for all intents and purposes is a spell caster, and the extra CDR, mana regen and movement speed works great and enables you to move a fast speeds when you need to make an escape from a gank and will save you many, many times.

Kayle CAN play a subtank, but its not her specialty since she has no real CC beyond her slow and her ult. Tank kayle would just be a damage soak and an inefficient one at that and there are better champs for that like Mundo, so for me its pointless to go tank kayle.

First item i shoot for at the start is Guinsoo's Rageblade, with kayle's passive, the AP and AD on it give her a damage boost to her abilities since she's a hybrid like Jax. For boots i'd take Boots of Lucidity.

IF they have alot of crowd control (stuns,snares,silence,slows etc. knockbacks and knockups i.e. Xin Zhao, Maokai, Malphite, Tristana are uneffected) in that case i'd go merc treads, merc treads may help keep that pesky vegar or lux from nuking your while youre stuned/snared.

The next item i'd shoot for for more attackspeed and AP would be Nashor's tooth. Its CDR and mana regen passive work great to keep you in the field as well as providing a little extra ap and ad boost since her passive for ap boosts her ad, and the attack speed is great for farming minions after you've gotten your rageblade.

Hextech Gunblade should definatly be the next major item on your list, some prefer to get it before nashors tooth and this is entirely optional, depending on your playstyle, again its a great hybrid item and benefits kayle very well.

Last 2 items Banshee Veil and Frozen Heart purely optional, depending on enemy team makeup, and since most teams try to keep a decent measure of ad and ap so its always good to have some defenses and forego glass cannoning. Banshee Veil works great for blocking that stun/snare/grapple (from blitzcrank) while frozen heart works awsome for slowing down those pesky carries that rely on auto attack to destroy your team.
