Kog'maw is a AD carry. When you are playing him you want to hit hard and fast. You need to get lots of farm because that's what AD carries do. He is squishy early game and through out the game. That's why you want some life steal. His passive is good for 1v1's. You just attack them and if they kill you and they are close to death, chase them down and your passive will do the work.
