The point to maxing W first is for early survivability due to increased tankiness. You shouldn't need more than one e,q,r,w to get a kill on anyone if you can hit your abilities with some carries that pay attention.

why would you max W first? your stuns/snares will have high cooldown and leona is a CC-monster
