The Dorans Ring at the beginning is just for the extra AP incase you get ambushed before minions start, you can slow with snow ball and get that extra bit of dmg. After you get your frozen heart you can sell the Dorans ring to help get your Banshee faster. this is strictly used because of the passive of blocking a spell every 45 seconds. so in case when you go to pop A.Zero. any stun that would stop it wont go thru and you will do massive dmg. After the frozen heart and banshee you are going all AP. This will allow for max dmg.

Also if you seem to be one of those people that love to waste mana, try to grab Berserker greaves instead of the Ionian boots for extra attack speed. Nunu's passive will help you out quite a bit :)
