Saying that you don't agree with my ideas, and explain or argue, that is a critic.
Saying that my ideas are dumb, this is a clearly a personnal attack.

With a negative ratio, yeah, i usually don't take it. But if the game is well and i have a few kills/assists, i take it. In two successfull teamfights, you earn at least 10 stacks (making just assists), and this way it's just much better than a Needleesly Large Rod. So yes, you don't earn immediatly the AP, but it will really help you to have more. And when you have even more, it will continue to help you having more.

Making the maths, with the Large Rod, one Ap costs 20 golds.
For the same ratio, you need 1235 / 20 = 61,75 AP with Mejai. Wich means, less the 20 starting AP, you need (61,75 - 20) / (8) = 5,22 stacks. Since you have 6 stacks, it's better than the Needlessly Large Rod. And having 6 stacks is really easy.

By the way, this was an argumentation. I don't really need to say that your idea is dumb, i just prove that it's worth it.

I read every word. Leave it to a pansy to take honest critiques of his guide as a personal attack. Instead of getting defensive, how about you listen to what i'm saying? Would you really go mejai's when you were 0-3-0? Yeah, me neither. I wouldn't go mejai's if I was 3-0-0 either.

You obviously didn't read my guide to say this, because except items (incoming section), i explained all my choices.

You didn't argue, just sayin' that all this is dumb. I can understand that you don't agree on this guide, you just don't need to be that rude and explain your point of view nicely. Having a high ELO don't allow you to treat people like **** btw.

mejai's in your core build is dumb.
not going 9 utility is dumb.
cv is a really dumb summoner spell for. Maybe you can scout a kill for your ult in a game, or you can pack ignite and actually just burst your lane opponent down.
Morello's rush is dumb.

May i give you some advices ?

I don't think you need Rod of Ages : with Lux range, you should not be in your enemies' range, so some HP is not really needed. If you really wants mana pool early, you can read the comment just above, i talk about Chalice of Harmony, this item is a pure beauty.

You should take a last item late game : Doran's ring is not that usefull late game, consider buying Banshee's Veil for defensive purpose instead, or maybe an Athene's Unholy Grail for some MR.

By the way, you have made a nice work, and this is just my personnal opinion, i'm sure you are doing well with your build :) !

Thank you, it's nice to hear that you enjoyed this build ! Tear of the Godness isn't a bad idea, i have played with it during a long time. The mana it gives you early is very nice, agreed. But i don't take it anymore :

I can give you a few other reasons, i just think that if you have an hard time in lane and must use more your spells, just buy an early Chalice of Harmony : cheap, high mana regen, nice MR, and can be upgraded to Athene's Unholy Grail late.

Well done. I already play Lux very similarly to this build already, so I see your thought process. I personally like Tear of the Goddess as her, just so I really never have mana issues after level 3 or 4. It does hurt with my early game ap, but I can last it with Lux's good poke from e. I also suggest doing a read-through so that grammar nazis don't freak out and waste your time with comments. Excellent build. +1
