But the farm you put on kat goes so much further on any other carries. Malzahar with that farm will be able to insagib 1 person and bring the rest of the team to anywhere from half to 1/3. While kat will bring one to half and the rest to 2/3. Also, kat lacks cc, which is very strong in solo queue. Also, it's hard to get fed early as kat, especially compared to malz, who can just do a full combo to kill and harass with E. Also kat has much more dificulty farming compared to all other mages, and a strong solo lane will crush her. Which is why I have her so low.
Katarina is a VERY sub-par champion for anything but pub-stomping low elo disorganized teams. She does very little to benefit anyone if she doesn't get mega-fed early on, and even then she can be stopped with a simple stun. She's definitely tier-5 worthy.
1) Be good at Katarina.
2) Get fed early game.
3) Buy a Banshee's Veil.
4) Jump into the fight AFTER cc has been used.
5) Win game.
Also, you're right about eve; not quite as good anymore.
