AP Bard is really fun, though I always seem to prioritise chimes over everything else lol, do you think Mobility/Swiftness are worth it if you want to have more roaming pressure?

Tricky. You certainly don't want your damage to fall off, but he additional roaming pressure could be good. I'd only try it if you know the enemy laners are in exploitable positions to roam and punish, and/or your lane opponent is playing too safely to reasonably kill.

Honestly, you did this build because you play with Bard? I'm main Bard, if you remove Hextec Protobelt-01 and Liandry's Torment, and instead put Nashor Tooth and Lich Bane, it will certainly give more damage and have more cdr ... Use training mode to confirm. Thanks!!!

I've done the math behind it pretty extensively and they provide way less damage than just focusing on magic pen / base damage, which makes sense. Once Bard runs out of meeps, their autos are no longer any different from any other champion in the game, meaning they get only the base damages of Nashors / Lich Bane which is fairly mediocre compared to more prominent abusers of those items (Kayle, Twisted Fate).

Attack speed on AP Bard is largely overrated on its DPS

Where the **** is the Lich Bane????

I ran a gold/damage analysis on Lich Bane and it failed in the gold/dmg test against all the other listed items.

you can run as many analysis as you want, but lich bane is absolute core in my opinion. you get ms, a sheen proc (which your meeps alone can proc for good damage even if you can only aa when they come back) some cdr and ap. he plays like twisted fate if you build him ap in my opinion so that is a must for easy oneshots

In terms of the one-shot damage / gold tests, it failed against all other listed items, by a significant margin. If it's losing in damage, the only thing it has going for it is the CDR and MS. For the playstyle offered in the guide, neither of those stats are worthwhile enough to justify for the significant loss of team-wide magic damage.

To be honest, Lich bane is really overrated on Bard...

AP Mid Bard will never be a thing, but your guide has made me hate the thought of a solo lane Bard a lot less. That's quite an achievement, actually. I may even try it in a normals game too. Only once of course :P

It's not an ideal rush since it doesn't provide enough hybrid utility power during mid game (before AP Bard transitions into an AP Carry) and provides less overall gold/dmg than Void Staff and Rabadons, making the other two more effective if increasing damage.
