Orianna - I got the ball!
I don't think Void Staff early on is a good idea at all for the simple fact that any player who knows what the hell they're doing is going to notice your staff right off and then forgo any further magic resist in an attempt to defend against you. With 40% magic pen. it's going to be a waste of gold for someone to stack more MR against you.
However, this means that they will probably go more offensively, and since you will only have Dorans and the Void Staff at this point you will be pretty squishy with low AP.
Stacking flat magic pen. with % based magic pen. items is a waste of gold. Boots should be Merc. Treads in my opinion, 20+ magic pen. isn't worth sacrificing +35 Tenacity.
I applaud you for your effort, but there's a lot of things about your build in general that just don't seem to flow well; mostly just too high cost for a overly magic pen. heavy build and little survivability.
Won't down vote until I play around with Orianna myself though.
I'd get more cooldown though and I'd get it from scaling Glyphs and Ionian boots, if you're going 45% pen another 20 isn't gonna make or break a build but casting faster may win a team fight quicker.
Item order worse as it can get,survival items as last?Void staff for early game?It can't be any worse and the guide explnation is short and about how not to play her not how to.
The Void staff is written there as enemy champions tend to get magic resist at around the point where you build a void staff... You never build in a perfect order to a guide, you build to match the current situation. You don't have to grab it early game.
