Of course you have to be patient with 
Galio. He isn't popular champion right now since Riot nerfed him a very long time ago but he is still worth to play. In my opinion, he is underrated and fun champion to play. Many high elo players also plays with Galio especially if they pick him to counter burst mages or assassins. Of course you won't be able to win every game with him since he also pretty much below 50% win ratio but that's how it is.
