in all honesty i havn't gotten a good rune build yet, let alone my own one, but i put the ones i'm going for in there, which i think will give ryze a good boost on stats

i chose clarity for d because you need mana to cast spells...more mana... more spells... also longer you can stay in the lane.

i chose ghost because ryze is a very squishy character, ghost helps him escape, but you can chose flash if you will, but i've had more luck with ghost then flash.

start off with 1 sapphire crystal, and get 2 health potions. the crystal increases your mana, which increases your damage of overload, and rune prison.

then go and get your sorcer's boots when you can
and after that catalyst the protector, and then rod of ages.
rod of ages is EXTREMELY important to get A.S.A.P! because it leads to a lot of damage with your overload and rune prison, and great survivability.

after that pick up a void staff, just all around good.

now here... is where it is up to you to decide which items to get. normally since i am playing a bit aggressively at this point, they will start to focus me. so i normally get ralia's crystal scepter for the massive health boost, and the slow, the slower they are the faster you can get away/chase to kill them.

if they are not focusing you, i would get rabadon's deathcap then ralai's.

lich bane is last but not least, it gives you that final boost of mana and ap and a nice proc every time u use a spell..with a cooldown ofcorse...
