Your malefic visions goes from minion to minion. Find it usefull to scary champions wich stay behind his minions. Pick that one first (always). Your call of the void is usefull to scare champions because it's epic.

Your ultimate needs an upgrade when it can.

Team Work

Malzahar is actually build for assisting.

His ultimate power (face laser) is handy for locking champions so your teammates can beat the **** out of him.

If you stack your ability like above. Your call of the void does 1200/1300 magic damage. So you are quite a killer yourself

Items

With this item/rune build, you can stack your ability power up to over 1000.
If you find yourself more dead than alive buy Rod of Ages as last.

If you find yourself owning, freelance your ability power by buying a second Rabadon's Cap.
If you are on a experimental route, buy Morello's Evil Tome to have a sickening cooldown reduce.
If you are facing two tanks or more, Buy Void Staff as last to penetrate 40% more magic through his armor.
