Meh.... the reason ap skarner is not viable is not only the lack of tankiness, but if you go jungle you will hardly ever be able to earn enough gold in order to build damage and skarner top lane is a very bad choice, his skill make him auto push and he can hardly win trades if the enemy has any kind of poking ability.

I did read that you would like that I tried your guide before I rated you and left a comment but... I will try it this evening and get back to you. Yes I agree there is no BEST build for Skarner. He is a versitile champion. My Largest concern that I have for Your build is NOT the AP ratio but your placement for him. You Cant Solo top or Jungle, He is not quite an ap carry or support. I can see the late game advantage but you may want to provide some early game mana regen. I liked your advice and you made a verry nice guide so I gave you a +.
