Hello! I'm SirBroad. I don't have any illusions of being well-known on Moba or in LoL, but here's my new build for Sona. I used to play her as a combination support/soft carry (my old build for which you may have stumbled across while looking for Sona builds) and I realized several things. For starters, this is an incredibly selfish way to play Sona. The purpose of a support is to do exactly that - support your team. At no point in the build was I buying wards, I didn't take Clairvoyance, and I was building far too much AP to actually be effective. I learned this the hard way in a game when my bot lane partner consistently told me to learn how to play a support. While the player in question was exceptionally rude about it, they certainly had a point. LoL is a team game, and there's not usually much space for someone who doesn't want to fulfill their role on the team. That's the obvious lesson I learned from my old build. The second one is that it simply wasn't a viable way to build Sona. Archangel's Staff is not the end-all/be-all item for Sona, as many would have you believe. Yes, it solves your mana problems indefinitely. Yes, you get AP from it. Yes, this is absolutely not helpful in the end. Sona gets a fair amount of actual damage from this item between her Q and her ult, but damage isn't really her role, and her heal suffers from a low AP ratio, so for all the AP you build, you still don't actually benefit your team. Regardless, I'll explain this in the items section. Thank you in advance for reading the build, and please don't hesitate to leave a comment! (Especially if you vote!)
