Minus the Spell Thief start and you have your normal mid Ryze build. You really can't play Ryze as a passive support who hides in bushes with 0 cs. If you do play him as one, play a "kill lane". Work on sharing cs and try not ksing. That way you get more gold and can somewhat move forward. If you and your carry can snowball fast then it will work out. If not, expect a loss unless your other 3 players can pull you through. Ryze only has 1 CC and it only targets one person. Running flash/exhaust could work. Talisman of Ascension could be used instead mainly for an escape/rush utility. Ryze roots one champion but doesn't stop their attacks, maxing it first would nuke your mana pool. Only way a Ryze "support" could work is if you are laning with a snowball champion or a burster. Champions like Ashe are mid/late game and offer nothing in terms of hard damage. I've played against a Ryze support before. I fed off the ADC and focused him last mainly because he built an item set like this. Junglers play a massive part on plays for both your team and the enemy. If you feel that your jungler won't offer what your lane needs, expect their jungler dropping by. I also assume your masteries will be 21/0/9 and tanky runes with move speed quints.
