Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Welcome to my build my swain build if your lazy feel free to use that item build but it wont suit you every game.
I'd like to talk about items you need and situational items etc.
Rod of ages, Archangels Staff
If you get your boots and have got your catalyst and tear of goddes by that time you should be noticing if you are getting fed or not, if so follow this core build:
Boots(mercury's trends if alot of cc, sorc pen if alot of tanky characters, mobility if none of those situations apply so you can chase people and run in and snare b4 they know whats going on)
Tear of goddess (later to be archangel's staff)
Catalyst of the protector (later to be rod of ages)
Rylai's sceptor (help proc torment slow, survivability etc)
Zhonya's Ring (active is nice, passive self explanitory)
Though if there are high dps and ap out there then you may want to swap rylai's and zhonya's for frozen heart and banshee's veil/force of nature (depending if they have cc aswell).
Though if there are tank's out there you may want to follow this build:
Sorc pen boots
Rod Of Ages
Mejai's if you are fed (otherwise rylai's)
Make nevermore your priority skill (regardless if they are harassing you or vice versa as it can help in off and def situation.
If squishy harras as much as possible keep them off the farming and hopefully they will either have to go back or stay there and give you a free kill.
If tanky stay back last hitting minions, when enemie minions or champions gets too close to tower use your nevermore (and torment champions to stop health regen) this will help so your tower takes less damage over time and therefore ensure your tower is still standing at the 30min mark hopefully.
If you have a squishy as your partner, protect them as much as possible with nevermore and let them farm while you keep the enemie champions off farming the minons (nevermore and torment would be priority skill).
If you have a tank as your partner it would be in your best interest to get your laser bird and torment to stop those enemies from escaping to drop them like crazy.
You may be in the top 5 Ap champs that are not as squishy but that doesnt mean you should be initiating (unless you have no other tanky champions).
Position yourself behind the tank but in front of your squishys and pull off nevermore when you see a enemy champ overextend or out position themselves so rest of the team can come in.
I'll add more to this guide as i recieve comments, i've been playing swain since his double bundle, and i do realise some players will have trouble mastering snaring with nevermore, if this is the case slow first with laser bird then snare ahead of where they are running slightly. If you can handle it a nice combo is torment-nevermore then as it's about to run out pop ult and laser bird them.
Have fun fellow summoners, hope to see you out on the field, hope this guide helps Enjoy.
