This is my first guide. I've played over 200 Teemo games and he is my favorite champion. I have tried numerous builds on Teemo, and ultimately I feel that even though he's a strong laner and can counter a lot of top champions, his edge in lane is typically negated later in game. The purpose of this guide is to give Teemo players a chance to both counter a lane and still be effective throughout the rest of the game. NOTE - this build is situational. This means that if your team needs you to do high amounts of damage you should be playing Teemo a different way. The purpose of playing Teemo this way is to accomplish 2 things: 1. counter the top lane 2. be tanky for your team. You will be very tough to kill and can still do decent damage, enabling you to stick on the enemy team's ad/ap carry. If the enemy team chooses to focus you your carries will be able to melt them.

I go 9 armor pen reds, 9 hp/level golds, 9 mr/level blues, hp/level quints. Defensive runes are standard on good Teemo's regardless, so considering this is a tanky teemo guide, we're sticking with defensive. As a top lane, you will be most likely getting ganked early and often, so the health/level (along with the 9/21/0 masteries) will keep you alive most of the time.

I always start boots+3. You need to be able to escape early ganks. The first time I back I get doran's blades. The reason for this is because we're running 9/21/0, and therefore have no lane sustain. The blades give us 3% lifesteal each and also add to our already devastatingly high hp totals. A phage is a good item as it gives us dmg+health. I then work towards my Atmogs. Mercs are almost always the best choice but tabi can be used to help win lane. I then get a Maw and a GA. By this time I'm extremely tanky and do decent damage with my impaler.

Your final offensive item is situational. If the enemy team is magic heavy you can go Wit's end to finish out your AS as you don't have much. Otherwise you can turn your phage into triforce. If the enemy team is stacking health you can get Madred's.
