I just came up with Sona's build after the updates with Shurelya's Battlesong and Staff of Flowing Water. Utilizing these items' passive is a great help to your ADC and the overall team.

With Shurelya's passive on Sona's basic skills and its active, it gives the team an advantage when chasing enemies. At the same time, it gives them an advantage when escaping after losing team fights.

Also, her heals and barriers were not compromised despite maxing E first and not using Moonstone Renewer. In fact, she can still heal champions with desired amount after purchasing Staff of Flowing Water.

In terms of mana, Sona uses a lot for her skill. Despite not including Tear of the Goddess or Archangel's Staff, she still do not run out of mana easily after building Shurelya's Battlesong. After building Shurelya and SOFW, you are all set!
