Whoops! Thanks for catching that man! What I really meant to say was that the Black Cleaver was pretty good for early and mid game for tanks with a low and mediocre amount of armor. My situational items section explains why I like the Last Whisper against tanks with a higher amount of armor.

Black Cleaver is strong in early (though you wont get it in early) and mid. But a lot less in late.

on Varus i have same build, except my spell priority: R>W>Q>E, with W he have great burst early/mid game:)

For the runes part, the desolation runes is armor penetration, not armor reduction, so can only reduce armor to min of 0.

For enemy with armor below 23.9 you can only deal true damage to him rather than more damage, item like BC which apply armor reduction is the one can deal more damage to low armor guy as the armor will go below 0 which make you deal more than normal damage.

As you said, my guide lacks pictures and I am working on getting together some screenshots, as well as, some other artwork to spice up the guide. I am also working on a situational items section. And I am also going to post a little bit on why I don't enjoy AP Varus and why Hybrid Varus May be an alright idea. I would have to say yes, but my only argument against this is that both of the Doran's Blades give a little health bonus and an extra 6% lifesteal for you. The great thing about getting the B. F. Sword though is that is gives 25 more damage than the Doran's Blades. If you do have, like 2000 gold though on your first run back, I would get the B. F. Sword and a Vampiric Scepter. Its up to you what you want to do though because I'm not saying to follow my guide or any guide like its the only way to play. Everyone has their own playing styles. But GL HF!

Great start to a guide, Riotspartan! I like how your rune pages have many alternate selections, especially since Varus is in my opinion completely different from all of the rest of the AD carries.

You may want to:

• make some alternative item choices; In my relatively short time playing Varus, you may want to include some alternative builds; I've built him AP (that wasnt too good), and AS, and Hybrid. At any rate, including alternative builds will probably make people more inclined to check out your guide

• You may want to write some more sections. While this does constitute as a build, you may want to include some good detail (with pictures, please) of your positioning in team fights, who to target, where to fight, and all that good, juicy, sweetness

Fabulous start to a guide though. +1 when im allowed to.

This is more or less what I've been building on Varus. I was building Last Whisper but came to the same conclusion that you did, he benefits so much more from the BC. I have to ask though, if you've farmed enough for your bf sword on your first back... should you just buy it rather than getting the two doran swords?
