I did and shes really strong. Abilities in spider form are free so she isn't as blue buff dependent as I once thought. She has built in sustain, free resistances, and the spiderlings make her clear time rather fast. I started with machete, but I bet she could start boots.

Elise is definitely underrated, she's ridiculously good in certain scenarios. But I think she is just such a strange champ that people are hesitant to try and play her, and if you shut her down early, that's that. Some champs can recover from a bad start (Darius and Diana spring to mind) but if you look at someone like Elise, she simply cannot possibly make a comeback. Her role is also really hard to define, perhaps another reason nobody is super keen on playing her.
