The problem is they can 4-5 shot me for whatever reason. when I try to engage it barely hurts them. I am trying to do the math but I seem to be missing something.
Jax is squishy as **** after his rework, only while your ult is active you are slightly more sturdy, but since he's a pure autohitter with a skillset that FORCES him to stay in combat, he's way too ****ing squishy.
And he still got his early game probs, so don't even think about attacking someone like Rengar/Fiora without stacking your passive to max and having every skill ready.
And against Fiora on lvl 6: Keep your Counterstrike only for that Ulti.

I should have mentioned it was Riven against Fiora. and Jax did alright against Rengar, but he kept healing and did incedible amoutns of damage despite not having any offense (his first item was Zeal with B.Greeves) and he still could 3 shot me.

just know when to fight and when to not fight
definitely dont engage on them or let them engage on you openly early on for sure
just keep in mind your goal is to outscale the enemy as jax.
With their cheeze strat just get an early chain vest
You'll outscale em as long as you manage the lane well.

Did you get armor? If rengar was nearly full AS his natural pen was kinda ****py, you should've been able to witstand his burst with a ninja tabi and some early HP instead of forcing hextech.
Fiora is the same deal; you can't ignore armor penetration, you build armor for it. You could stun her steroids to shorten it's duration, perhaps after armor and some lifesteal you could do her with greater ease.

I am trying ot wrap my head around it but i still can't make out why it is doing so good. Or at least why it is destroying me.
The thing I am seeing is a 30-0-0 mastery set for Top laners, with weird rune sets to follow. the first was a rengar, who ran with AS Marks, 5 AS seals, and 4 AS glyphs (21.8% AS) with 4 armor seals and 5 CDR glyphs topped of with MS quints. and earlier today I was trounced by a Fiora with Arpen Marks and all else flat AD.
The Rengar just outright demolished my Jax play. I had to passive farm at my tower forever and that allowed him to roam and kill freely. I don't really get how he was able to almost two shot me as well.
The Fiora was slightly more manageable but I was still on the back foot, depsite first blood and a 2 level advantage when she just smacked me around with her sword.
So what gives? Why is this destroying me?
