Yeah, we've talked about adding something like this in the past. I'll be sure to remind them. That should be a good addition to the blacklist we already have (which has blocked over 200 more of these threads being created over the last couple of days).
How about giving veterans the right to temporarily stop an account from being able to create threads in the case of obvious spam (that would be the only allowed use case)? (Until a moderator has the time to look at an automatically created report) That may decrease the escalation in exchange for potential abuse. I think that the moderators are online enough to prevent serious abuse though, so I'd say it's a small risk. May save you a few 100s of actions.

I don't think that'd be necessary once we add a limit to the number of threads users can make within a certain amount of time or if we give the moderators some more tools to work with, but I'll keep it in the back in my mind just in case I'm wrong on that one :P
On a somewhat unrelated note, those spammers sure pick the worst times to attack. Banning someone / Removing threads on a phone is so much harder x_x

It takes 3 clicks to delete a thread, and there's a cooldown between deleting a thread sometimes, or the thread delete will fail.
It's amazingly annoying and I hope it gets better WAY sooner.
