It would go die, zilean ult revive, die, GA, die, run around as a ghoul, and when you die, you trigger passive. 100%.

The hardest lesson I've ever learned is the morde vs yorick matchup. You morde ult someone, he ults them in return, if they die, you don't get a clone, unless you can kill the revived character super fast. Lost me a ranked game T_T

should be your champ passive first, then the item's.

It's not, and it makes more sense this way. Karthus's passive needs him to die, while GA prevents death. So following your reasoning, it'd be "Karthus dies, passive kicks in and deals damage, is revive, dies again so passive kicks in again".
