I've been playing this game 24/7 this past year, I felt like total **** for that because of how unproductive I really was in my real life.
And by that, I mean I did NOTHING but just live off cup noodles, protein bars, and water.
What I have achieved in SOLO Q ranked was diamond 4 from silver 5, and I gotta say that these 7 months..
I have learned a lot from the SOLO Q community.
There's many things you can learn from an online game, but I feel like I HAVE to say this.
When I was in high silver, I played another SOLO Q game and ended up laning against with a diamond 1 smurf, I lost horribly against him, I kept harassing him and how smurfing is cheating, etc etc. He told me this, "You have to learn the rules of the game first, and then you could understand how it works", I'm not sure what that actually meant.. that made me think a lot about how my behavior completely changed from silver 1 to gold 2 that month. That taught me a lesson that if you're just too upset to concentrate, then you just wind up losing the game for your team.
Being angry (Toxic) effects other people too, and it's a disease that spreads like wildfire, if you have nothing good to say, do not say it at all.
There's a lot of things that leads you to being a low ELO player, (Silver, Bronze, Low GOLD.)
Which is,
>Being all the above (Toxic, completely ignorant, unskilled, uncooperative, lag, distractions, other stuff that bothers you during focus hour)
It's hard to be the only one in the team that has real sense of teamwork and getting in the middle of the 4 other people that are barking at each other on and on, it's not hard to use a mute button and get it over with. But this game has a very good way of teaching other people to use the ping system that's completely useful 100% of the time! There's no reason why /ALL CHAT needs to be used unless it's for timers.
The main thing here is what I'm trying to say, is that teamwork is needed for this game, and you cannot win by being a baby for 20 minutes and calling forfeits how your teammates fed the whole game and how you're a Solo Q King and should have a noble peace prize for not being as toxic as a nuclear power plant.
Communication is the KEY to win, and each game is a new door to open.
You lose, you get to try again.
You win, you get to open that door and step further and further into the room of diamond.
So please, if you feel like you need to say something to that one mid lane that didn't call MIA after laning phase is over. Just don't bother pressing enter and typing in /ALL "OMG GG IM DONE, GG, GG, GG, GG, GG, GG, GG, GG" over and over. You'll notice you get constantly angry by making those witty comments.
Thank you for reading, and good luck in ranked friends.
