We do have something similar for general talking, but its pretty useless as far as I'm concerned. What most websites are doing nowadays are having their chat areas at the bottom of the page your on (so you can surf the forums while chatting). I quite like implementing it in that way, but it'll be up to Matt.
thanks Hogopogo for the banner :D
yea. could be a good input, but for now, i dont find it necessary.

Website Idea #2
An example of something that would be much better suited for a Shoutbox would be what I have a question about personally at the moment, "How come PS5 won't let me duplicate my channel? ><". This is something relatively arbitrary and I hardly deem it worthy of a new thread post as that would pretty much just litter whichever section it is posted in, especially if other people were asking similar things.

Btw, phil is not anyone on this site, he is my imaginary friend only >< don't get confused by that.
Now, hopefully the banter will be less absurd than my example. But, the point is that we could ask simple questions here, have casual conversation if some so desired, etc...
Points to consider:
1. People might spam the box/troll the box
2. Inappropriate things may be littered in the Shoutbox
3. The above two might create demand for moderator supervision which may not be applicable due to staffing issues. (Not implying anything, just noting the theoretical possibility)
How to solve these points:
1. Create anti-troll/spam measures, such as limit 3 posts in 15 seconds and anymore will not be possible, you must wait...For trolling, add a filtering program which blocks certain key words and slowly add to its database as issues arise.
2. #1 solves this issue for the most part, but a "report" option which at a certain number of reports, probably lower, such as 2 or 3, will copy+paste package and send a report message to certain moderators/admins that are participating so that they can see if that person needs to be Shoutbox banned. (Another option you may create).
3. Not sure on this one, this would be up to the moderators/admins to figure out if it actually was a presented issue. However, one simple solution I can think of right off the bat would be to create a sub-rank which has only shoutbox moderation ability and give it to specific trusted people who agree to be part-time sub-mods for free (A lot of people would do this I believe).
*edit* Oh noes, my shoutbox looked good initially poop...now it's all messed up, you get the point though!
