Yeah it's probably hurting you if you plan to be competitive.
Doing all roles is good to build your base and your foundation and understanding, then zoning into 2-3 roles and mastering 1-2 is generally best.

It's best to learn everyone, and play whatever your team needs. (Boring but better chances of winning.)
Don't pick anyone you don't know how to play, of course.
That's why I like Dominion, I can play whoever I want and still win.
I've thought about Maining WW, carrying him to victory so I'd win more.
This was the result of that.
As far as Summoner's Rift, I usually play what we need (tank, carry, jungle, etc.)
That's especially important in Ranked.
But if I see my team already has 2 tanks/2 supports and a Talon, I just dodge or play Teemo (**** it, if you want soraka, janna and karma my ***** *** is going TEEMO.)

^ This isn't really true if you want to get high Elo.

Picking a champ who can do multiple roles as well also helps.
Maining a champ like Udyr who can both solo top and jungle allows for versatility.
While the roles are different, the champ is the same, so you'll be effective at what you know works.

The more champions you know the more you know how to counter that champion and what that champion will bring to the table.
Good quote comes to mind about the art of war , play someone enough and they will know your play style.

Knowing how to play each role is great, however it is a good idea, that once you learn how to play in each role, specialize in one or two specific roles, so you have a role you can effectively play as well as play other needed roles
It depends how much time you put in imo.
If your just playing a different champion every game then it might hurt you. I say might because there are simply good people of the bat. Such a cruel and unfair world isn't it?
Of course by spending time with a given champion will allow you to learn the specific niches, but don't let this discourage you from deviating.
Get pro with a champion, play decent with other types and your good. I agree what duuftime said. Versatile champions are good. Examples include the aforementioned
Udyr,
Olaf and probably
Nasus as well.
