Sure, you might sound like a ****head, but if it's your strongest role, then play it.
Call the role your best at, but be open-minded and ready to play other roles as well.
When you play ranked games, you should be an adaptable enough player to play at least three different roles (if not all five!) However, just because another player isn't as adaptable as you, doesn't mean you should shun them and play what you want to play anyway. If there's a player on your team who can only play top or jungle, and another player has already called top, and you want to jungle, don't be a **** and force your team into losing simply because you wanted to play as a jungler.
The worst possible thing you can do is be aggressive, controlling, and an overall **** to your own teammates.
Learn the game.
Seriously, I get A LOT of people at 1.4/1.5 K elo who simply have no idea what their doing, like a Cho'Gath going top vs me (Jayce) and starting with a Doran's Ring, giving me FB and getting ANOTHER Doran's ring before boots).
Have you ever thought why you choose your items/item route? Are you flexible enough that you have a list of items you may change to in case you need to counter a specific lane adversary or a team? Do you ever, as a carry, consider
Quicksilver Sash against a
Mordekaiser? Do you always force
Trinity Force as
Ezreal even if you're losing your lane bad?
I mean, my itemization (or itemization in general at my elo) isn't perfect, but I don't have a fixed formula that I'll never reconsider, and if I see stuff like a
Shaco building a Warmog's because he keeps dying instead of a Guardian Angel or learning when to engage it just feels sad.

Up until 1300 you're actually pretty safe knowing only jungle or mid. Just say something like, I only know how to play X and Y. They'll get mad at you and might dodge, but if they don't, you get your lane.
Mid lane to about 1200-1300 is a *****torm. One of them is going to outright snowball on the other, with or without ganks. If you're playing jungle, camp mid. Regardless of how bot or top is doing, if your mid is strong, he can help you carry the other two lanes. Camping bot is not only harder but if successful doesn't help your other lanes. A fed Sivir at that elo is not going to carry all that well. Carrying top lane is a lot easier, but a fed top lane doesn't always change the outcome of the game.
If you're playing mid, just take AD in masteries and auto attack them. Real easy harass. Dodge their skills and you'll eventually get them to 40% or so. Jump on them for FB. Really strong vs. kassadin lanes (all kassadins <1200 are dumb)

^ Camping a lane on any elo can be stupid. I had a lee sin camping my
Rumble lane to feed his wtv (Olaf?) and it went terribly because the other two lanes got quality ganks from our amumu, making both snowball, and when lee tried to correct it, he died. Eventually my gp5 and ult helped me get back in the game, gg.
Camping mid is the same ****; you don't know if the midlaner is good, if you're wasting your time or if the other lanes wouldn't go better with your help.
You're a jungler. The point is opportunity, not creeping

Then bad Shyvannas were bad
Nope.
Shyv's early damage output is literally 3-4 times as much as Singed could want.
Both have the downside of having zero sustain without items, but Shyv does better as she isn't restricted by mana. If Singed wants to kite her early on, he's going to use up a lot of mana.
play ADC or APC. they both work well.
Thank you jhoijhoi, Keondre, LaCorpse, The_Nameless_Bard, Arcana3, Apfeljack, Hogopogo, eddie199, Xiaowiriamu, and JEFFY40HANDS for the spectacular sigs!

I think the greatest thing about "elo hell" is that people never care about the AD Carry. Support is often frontline, mages slightly behind, etc, so often I used to play ADC, Irelia/Jax/Nocturne/Any other jumper would go on me and people would ignore me and call me a noob afterwards. Heck, I still see it happen
Fortunately it seems like this is equally true in reverse - hardly anyone bothers to focus me at 1.2-1.3k and if they do they usually give up pretty fast when I start kiting.
